Due to the ample amount of biomass in the nation, the US has the potential to dramatically rise their consumption of this organic matter. The report " The Promise of Biomass" proves that around 680 million dry tons of biomass could be made available for creating fuel and electricity by 2030. This is enough to create:
1. 54 billion gallons of ethanol (4 times as much produced in 2010)
or 2. Enough electricity to fit one-fifth of the nation's current demand.
In 2013, only 1.48% of all electricity produced was biomass. Let's increase the amount! The US can easily change this percentage to 19%, the expectation.
